The food was really good. I ordered a Pesto sauce pizza, with broccoli, spinach, fresh garlic and onion. The crust was homemade and fantastic. I gave it 5 stars because of the service. He threw on some Feta cheese for me for free and was super helpful too. I didn't find him rude at all.. just really laid back...and busy.

I have to disagree-I find that they're usually unfriendly and today our entire order was wrong, which is frustrating when you pay so much for the food, and they didn't offer to do anything to fix it. I've gone here for years but I'm going to buy my sandwiches from another place for a quite a while.

We spent a just a few days in Glen Arbor and came back here twice. Why? --Soups...homemade and sooo good. --Location, Location, Location - sitting outside at picnic tables, away from the main road right next to the Crystal River. great setting --Nice place to get a nice bite, for nice prices, in a nice location

Small in size but big in taste. Don't expect five star dining but this place makes good food.

Great deli, especially for grilled cheese! Get the Pat's special grilled cheese with pickles, cheese, thin slices hard salami, and mustard on thick home baked wheat bread. They stick Vicki's potato chips and Wild Bill's root beer. Will return!

They have a large variety of soups and sandwiches on one side of the building, a pizza window on the far side of the band they were building and a ice cream window on the front side of the building. Lots of great food to choose from and after you order it sitting at a table along a beautiful little river is a bonus. We had Turkey and Havarti sandwiches, some homemade soup that was fantastic.

Got hungry after climbing some dunes and needed to eat. Stopped in here for a bite and ordered a wrap and a salad. I'd skip the salad next time. But the wrap... oh, the wrap! It was tasty and fresh. And the bacon was crispy. Awesome!

We were told our simple 12" pizza would be ready 20 minutes after ordering at window. When it was not ready, we asked and were told it would 10 more minutes. Well, 45 minutes after ordering it was finally ready! 45 minutes - while we sat with no drinks, NOTHING! And no apology when it was finally ready. The pizza was excellent, the riverside setting was very nice. But 45 minutes - and no apology or anything!

There is a reason why I only review five or one star businesses and that's because I either loved them and want others to love them and for the business to survive or I was treated in a way that I think others should know about it. I vacation in Glen Arbor at least once a year and this place is the reason why my belly loves northern Michigan. I literally go here every single day I'm in town for lunch and I don't plan on stopping. The burgers are to dies for. First of all they don't Nicole and dime you and you can get anything you ever wanted on your burger. I order French fries and bacon on my burger and they don't charge for these things to be added. The bun is fresh and fluffy and toasted. The meat is hand formed and delicious. The cheddar is sharp and feisty. Next we have the pizza and it's the best pizza in town and maybe the state. Everyone else in the family likes the subs and the soups. But I can't ever bring myself to order anything other than pizza or a burger because they are so good.

This adorable little place caught our eye in our way through town. It has all of five tables, low ceilings, and enough charm to make up for any shortcoming. They have a wide variety of yummy sandwiches, soups, wraps and more. I had the chicken tortilla soup ... unbelievably good soup! My wife and daughter had a chicken with cheese wrap. They loved it. It's a little town eatery doing all the right stuff. You won't be disappointed.

Great pizza! Great value too! There is minimal seating inside the restaurant, but we took it with us and there are plenty of places you can enjoy it in this town!

The best of the best. Tim and Sue have graced Glen Arbor with amazing food for such a long time. Tim's pizza side of the biz is where you'll find cheesy/fried/amazing goodness. Sue's deli side is where you'll find amazing sandwiches (cherry chicken), soups, pastries, and more. I believe in between there's ice cream?? Maybe that's where they've come to an agreement.

This place was fun. A small place where half is a deli and the other half is pizza apparently owned by a married couple. We enjoyed our pizza and hoagie very much. I thought the food was a bit pricey but really enjoyed the crust on the pizza :-). We'd return if in the area!

We had the Thai pizza and it was the best non-meat pizza I've ever tasted! Food was served hot and quick.

Pizza (deluxe) was pretty good. Also a bit pricey ($40 for large pizza and 4 sodas). No indoor seating. Cute outdoor eating area next to the river but we had to fight off the mosquitos. For the cost of the pizza, it would have been nice to get better quality paper plates.

Not really for me.. It is quaint little place to visit along a small river, but again I found nothing special. We were going to try this other Pizza place at the Homestead Resort but they opened at 5 and we wanted Pizza at 4. It is like ordering from a Canteen, which is fine and they were not cheap on the toppings but I still found the Pizza and Salad just ok. I prefer Pizza from so many places over Riverfront. Maybe it's just me but when the person at the counter has Sauce and a mess all over his hands it is uninviting as well. Yes you are working with food but you should still maintain a standard for how people see you.

Pizza was delicious and their Greek salad was a nice proportion with tasty toppings including artichokes, grapes leafs, and banana peppers. Solid pizza joint!

While on vacation last weekend in Leelanau County, MI our family visited Johnnie Salami's Pizza and were pleasantly surprised at the great quality and taste of their food. We had a large pepperoni pizza and an order of bread sticks, which were made of the same dough recipe, but the bread sticks were covered with a butter garlic mixture then topped with REAL motz cheese. Our food was top notch! Seating is outside on a wooden deck, so there's no wait staff; you order at a window then they call you when your food is ready. Our food took about 25 minutes, which seemed a little long, however the wait was worth it. In fact, we liked this place so much we went back two evenings later and had it again.

Delicious food. Staff could be a bit friendlier. They kind of make you feel like they're doing you a favor by being there. But best food you can find in Glen Arbor for lunch or dinner. Fresh products and interesting selection every day.

BEST PIZZA EVER....my wife and I ordered the Greek pizza and the hummus platter both were out of this world best pizza I've ever had. Just amazing. The humus platter was also very good as well comes with many extras not just hummus, highly recommend this place .

Great spot next to the river. The food was yummy, but the outdoor seating was limited.

Cute walk up place right next to Crystal River with two patio sets under umbrellas. Very good subs, simple but tasty. Also good pizza.

I'm a Chicagoan and so am a *bit* fussy about pizza, but Johnnie Salami's has been turning out genuinely good pizza in Glen Arbor for years. Good thin crust, sauce with a bit of zing, yummy cheese and the toppings are extensive and fresh. Fantastic side salads as well, I really like the Greek. Eat there (outside, picnic tables along the river) or call ahead for very reasonably priced takeout.

We went on a nice kayak down the Crystal River and stopped by next door at Johnnie's to get some pizza. It was made fresh, quickly and was delicious. Better than 95% of the pizza I have had. It is not a fine dining establishment whatsoever -- just a window with tables outside. But the pizza alone gives this place 5 stars.
